To GOD be the Glory
I like to compare the threads of the tapestry to different incidents in my life. Sometimes when bad things happen, I say, “Lord, You are the Master Weaver, what are you going to do with that thread? It is so dark. I can’t seem to make any sense of it.” This reminds me of a poem I found, soon after I came to know Jesus. It’s called,
“ THE WEAVER”
My life is but a weaving
Between my Lord and me,
I cannot choose the colors
He worketh steadily.
Oftimes He weaveth sorrow,
And I in foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And I, the underside,
Not till the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Shall God unroll the canvas
And explain the reason why,
The dark threads are as needful
In the Weaver’s skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.

Father, I am so glad I have You. You are Omniscient, the God who knows everything about my life, even before it happens. You know how to create a work of art, even with my failures, mistakes and sorrows. I am reminded of Your promise in Your word, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose (Rom.8:28). Thank You Father. Only You can work these threads into the pattern of my life that create reflections of Jesus.
