Julie's Devotions

To GOD be the Glory

Tick Tock Tick Tock

Have you ever thought of “time” here as we know it as a precious commodity? Someone said, “Time is a clock nibbling at eternity.”

Do you have time to pray, time to share your blessings, time to go in the name of the Lord and help lift a burden off someone’s shoulders?

I heard this little verse about time:

I have just a minute

Only sixty seconds left in it.

Forced upon me can’t refuse it.

Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it,

but it’s up to me to use it.

I must suffer if I lose it,

give account if I abuse it.

Just a tiny little minute,

but eternity is in it.

Several years ago, I experienced finding a very large deposit in my bank account from an oil company. I immediately notified the bank and got many thankful words. I will admit that I did have a daydream of what I could do with all that money. My daydream required spending it in 24 hours or I had to give it back.

I thought, “If I had only a day to invest it or spend it for Jesus, what would I do?” The clock was ticking….. If I didn’t spend it I would have to give it back……

Our Lord gives us time, talents and resources every day to make a difference for Him in the world. Apostle Paul reminds us, “Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately… making the most of the time—buying up each opportunity—because the days are evil (Eph.5:15-16 Amplified).

What will you do with 24 hours for Jesus?

Father, thank You for 24 hours on this beautiful day. Show me ways to use my time, talents and resources for your glory, in the Precious Name of Jesus.
